This is the year that both of my parents celebrated their 65th birthdays. They were born almost exactly a month apart. I couldn't get it together to send them their birthday cards in a timely fashion but I did manage to get postcards made and sent off to 65 of the important people in their lives. The idea was for everyone to write a little message, a story, a birthday greeting for my parents and send the postcards to my parents house between my father's birthday (last month) and my mother's birthday (today). The cards have been arriving and are reportedly greatly anticipated each day.
I am hoping that my parents will forgive me my own tardiness this year and that they know that if you combine all the love and admiration and affection written in those 65 postcards they still have only a fraction of how I feel about them.
Happy Birthdays to The Old Peep and The Rooster! I can't wait to see you in just a few days!
